It has been growing dark
as I sit here
seemingly for days.
But a brief break in the pen-stroke
allows for a glimpse
into my long forgotten ways.

I look back at the light
silently following
as I walk through a tunnel which only I could have dug.
I see now, in startling clarity the result of what I have long forgotten,
and which festers within me still.
